The Nigeria Government has released statement indicating plan to lift ban  on Twitter in few days or weeks. This was the statement of Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, the on Wednesday in Abuja at a virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Recall that the Government suspended Twitter on June 5, 2021, after it deleted an offensive post of President Muhammadu Buhari. Giving update at the FEC meeting in Abuja, the minister said Twitter had agreed to most of the conditions put on the table by the Nigerian government. He disclosed that the micro blogging platform had also agreed to set up an office in Nigeria, but that the earliest it could do that was 2022 Lai Mohammed also revealed that the remaining three unresolved areas were simply a matter of ‘when’ and not ‘if’ there would be an implementation of conditions discussed.
