Boko Haram returns Dapchi school girls



The dreaded Islamist militant group, Boko Haram, at the early hours of Wednesday, returned 105 out of 110 girls who were abducted from Government Girls Science and Technical Secondary School in Dapchi town, Yobe state on February 19, 2018.



It was reported that the armed militants arrived Dapchi town with the girls in nine(9) vehicles same way they took them away about thirty days ago.

However five of the girls were reported to have died.

A resident of the community who confirmed the return of the girls to Daily Trust Newspaper, revealed that the insurgents returned the girls few minutes after soldiers were withdrawn from the town.

She further stated that the people of the community were ecstatic and jubilant when the saw the girls.

Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President Buhari  on Media and Publicity, has confirmed the return of the school girls.

Shehu promised to give further details on the development later, adding that the girls are being transported to safety.

Recall that Minister of Defence , Mansur Dan-Ali had revealed that the government was confident that the girls would return in the shortest time owing to the intelligence at its disposal.

Although he did not say the exact time when it would be, but there were clear indication that efforts was made to facilitate the return of the girls.
