Escape of six suspects from Kogi Police cell: IGP Idris sacks Kogi State CP others

Shortly after the news of the escape of six suspects linked to Senator Dino Melaye from Police cell in Kogi state, Ibrahim Idris, the inspector-General of Police, IGP has ordered the immediate removal of the Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, Ali Janga.

Jimoh Moshood, Force Public Relations Officer, disclosed this in a statement released to the press on Wednesday.

The IGP also redeployed the Commander, Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in the state, the Divisional Police Officer ‘A’ Division, Lokoja and other police officers implicated in the escape for negligence, dereliction of duty and gross misconduct.

The affected officers according to the statement are facing serious disciplinary action.
