President Muhammadu Buhari after his visit to Maiduguri, Borno on Wednesday, later proceeded to Damaturu, Yobe state, as part of his nationwide visit to trouble areas in the country.
The Governor of Yobe State, Ibrahim Geidam received the President at the Damaturu helipad and later moved on to Government House, Damaturu for a brief meeting.
The President is visiting the state three weeks after Boko Haram gunmen abducted 110 schoolgirls from Government Girls’ Science and Technical School, Dapchi, a village 101km away from Damaturu.
He will be flying to Dapchi where he is to hold a townhall meeting with the parents of the missing girls.
On his entourage are Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity, Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Obayomi Olonishakin, National Security Adviser (NSA) Retired Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno and other service chiefs.
