Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos will on Easter Monday commission newly completed AIT/Ilo road, and other roads and bridges connecting the state with Ogun State, as part of efforts to solve traffic challenges hitherto associated with the area and significantly boost the economy of the entire Lagos West.
The Lagos-Ogun boundary roads completed and ready for commissioning are: Ikola Road with Odo Obasanjo Bridge – 6.4km (from Ipaja/Command to Ilo River); Ogunseye Road – 1.75km (from Ajasa/Command to Ikola Road);Oko Filling Road – 1.5km (from AIT to Ilo River).
Others are; Osenatu Ilo road – 620m (from Ibari Road to Ilo River); Amikanle road – 3.1km (from AIT to Ogunseye Road); Aina Aladi road – 1.9km (from AIT to Ilo River) and Aiyetoro Road with a bridge– 1.4km (from New Market/Ishefun Road intersection to Ilo River).
Earlier on Sunday evening, the Lagos State Commissioner for Employment and Wealth Creation, Pharm (Mrs) Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuff, joined with other leaders of the Agbado Oke- Odo LCDA, embarked on an inspection tour to all the 21 network of roads, to prepare ground for the visit of the Governor.
According to her, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, had about a year ago, made a sterling promise to the good people of Alimosho by flagging off the construction of network of roads within the boundaries of Lagos and Ogun States.
She stated that the Governor had then expressed optimism that the roads which have been identified for immediate construction and rehabilitation would complete the new face of Alimosho constituency.
The Commissioner on behalf of the people of the area commended Governor Ambode for giving Alimosho people the best Easter gifts (21 Roads).
