The members of the Shiite movement have clashed with the Police in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Monday, demanding the release of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, who has been detained by the Federal Government without trial since 2015.
The Editorials gathered that the protesters stormed the Institute For Peace and Conflict Resolution Abuja, in Abogo Largema a Central business district area in Abuja, rioting and calling on government to release their leader.
The protest which started from the Unity Fountain, beside Transcorp hotel, has spread to other part of the city including Millennium park and Maitama.

Meanwhile Police Anti-Riot squad have been deployed to the area to disperse the protesters, firing teargas canisters, as some of the protesters were wounded and vehicles destroyed.
However the members of the Islamic movement have resisted every attempts by the security operatives to keep them off the street, as they were seen throwing stones and other sharp objects at the police patrol vehicle.
