OREDOLA ADEOLA|

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, in the company of two powerful indigenous investors, Chief Femi Otedola and Alh. Aliko Dangote, on Sunday, embarked on a tour of Epe Jubilee Chalet, ongoing Jetty project by the Dangote Group at the Lekki Free Trade Zone and other  projects in Ibeju-Lekki and Epe axis of the state.

According to the Governor, the ongoing Dangote Jetty, when completed will open up the Free Trade Zone and contribute to making Lagos the most viable industrial hub in Africa.

Recall that Governor Ambode commissioned the Jubilee Chalet in July, 2017, being part of the expansion plan for the old Government VIP Chalet built by the former Lagos State Governor, Alhaji Lateef Jakande.

The project according to the Governor was meant to strategically reposition the historic town of Epe, and to optimise the economic benefits from the huge investment activities in and around Lekki Free Trade Zone.

The Jubilee Chalet, is also an attempt by the Ambode's administration to promote tourism, leisure and recreation activities in the axis.

The facility since it was commissioned last year, has created employment opportunities, boost economic activities in the community, and generate additional revenue for the state.

It is being managed by MP Hotels, an internationally acclaimed firm in the hospitality industry.

The facility has over the year, enjoyed patronages from tourists and corporate institutions.

A similar project called “ Government VIP Chalets” in Badagry is currently being rehabilitated and will be commissioned by the Governor soonest.

The government is also planning to establish several models across the state.
