Millions of Brits on Wednesday May 3, 2018 cast votes to elect their Metro mayors, Councillors and one MP.
Being the first electoral test for both Labour and the Tories since last year's general election, more than 4,250 council seats across 150 local authorities were contested.

Out of the 4250 council seats contested on Wednesday, Princess Elizabeth Bright, 22, was elected as one of the youngest councillors in U.K. representing Eastbrook ward in Dagenham. Her mother, Mrs. Afolasade Bright was also re-elected, as Councillor in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Council poll.
In a post celebrating her victory, Princess Elizabeth said, “ On May 4, 2018, God did it - He turned my setback into a comeback. I WON - officially elected as the youngest Labour Councillor in my borough representing the fantastic Eastbrook Ward at the tender age of 22 alongside two amazing people Mick McCarthy and Tony Ramsay.

“We have worked so hard in this election, with one of the most targeted wards, but the hardwork, commitment and tears have finally paid off," she remarked.
She however attributed her electoral victory to efforts made by CLP, to the Borough-wide councillors, MP Jon Cruddas, volunteers, friends and her parents Councillor Afolasade Bright & Mr. Gbolahan Bright, Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) the Master’s Sanctuary, Dagenham, UK.
Meanwhile, the result of the election did not go as planned by the Labour party, as it failed to win a string of key election battles it promised.
The party was tipped to make big gains in London but fell short in the wake of the anti-Semitism scandal.
Nonetheless, it picked up a handful of extras seats, and dominated overall, despite its shortcomings.
