Kaduna World Bank loan: Governor El-Rufai places scriptural curses on three Kaduna Senators

OREDOLA ADEOLA|
The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Friday, used scriptural verses to rain curses on the three Kaduna Senators for their action against the state's application for a World Bank loan.

Recall that the Senators- Shehu Sani (Kaduna Central), Sulieman Hukunyi (Kaduna North), and Danjuma Leah (Kaduna South) — blocked a $350m loan request by the Kaduna government, over the argument that the loan would erode the economic viability of the state.

In the statement obtained via his Facebook page, El-Rufai affirmed that the Kaduna Senators are cursed. He described them as the enemies of the people of Kaduna State.

Referencing Koranic texts , he said, “ - the Words of Allah: - Surah Al-Baqarah (2:9-12).
“2:9 -they [think to] deceive Allah and those who believe, but they deceive not except themselves and perceive [it] not.

“2:10 - In their hearts is disease (of doubt, hypocrisy, arrogance and disbelief), so Allah has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they [habitually] used to lie.

“2:11 - And when it is said to them, "Do not cause corruption on the earth," they say, "We are but reformers.

“2:12 - Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive (it) not," he stated.
The statement however received backlashes from almost 1000 respondents who faulted his use of Koran verses to condemn the Senators.

One Facebook user, Bala Ibrahim said, “Pride is killing my governor. If he (El-Rufai) had tried to calmed down and relate well with the Senators, this will not be happening. Beside how are we sure these verses you quoted are not applicable to you? I pray Allah to give us very responsible leaders that are worthy of emulation. The truth is what goes around comes around.

Muhammad Auwal Musa said, “Don't try to quote our holy Qur'an in your dirty game that you are all fighting for your selfish interest. Mr. Governor, your dramatic dictatorship has nothing to do with Qur'an nor prophet Muhammad's way of leading people.

“Just continue your fight. You share common traits with the Senators. We are not your priority. What you are doing is for your own benefit all of you lay beside the shade of President Buhari, as he appears to be the only one that loved, us not you guys but Allah the Almighty will soon expose you all,” Musa posted.
