President Muhammadu Buhari and his delegation to US are currently having a “technical stopover” in the United Kingdom.
This was confirmed by Mr.Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity on Thursday, when speaking with a Punch Newspaper in a telephone chat.
Recall that President Buhari after a four-day working visit to the United States, departed US on Tuesday after the Monday meeting.
Mr Shehu who was on Buhari’s delegation to US said, “They had a technical stopover in London. I am sure if you keep your ears to the ground, you will hear of his arrival soon.”
The presidential spokesman did not give details of the “technical stopover” but insisted it’s not something to worry about.
Speaking on the trip to US, Shehu said if the bilateral meeting was to be judged according to its set objectives, there is nowhere it came short as some saucy opponents have said. President Buhari got everything we wanted from President Donald Trump.
According to him, “When Buhari was asked if Nigeria had succeeded in getting American to buy more of our oil, President Buhari said he did not. We have others buying our oil. Must we sell to a particular buyer?
He further disclosed that Buhari’s administration will smartly work with President Trump, as a strategic partner on security, anti-corruption economic growth and job creation.
