The promotion as new DIGs was sequel to the compulsory retirement of seven DIGs by the Acting IG, who incidentally were his senior. This was done in order to constitute new management team who would work with him.
Lamorde who hails from Adamawa State, and Ogbizi Michael, former Abia State Police Commissioner are the two CPs who were elevated to the rank of DIGs.
