Emmanuel Etim, Presidential Candidate of Change Nigeria Party, has warned Nigerians to be weary of politicians parading themselves as flag bearers of the two prominent parties , All Progressive Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), saying that they are charlatans who have regrouped themselves in order to exploit the citizen’s Commonwealth.

He made this known in a recent address to Nigerian voters, as a candidate in the 2019 Presidential election. According to him, these charlatans have grouped themselves into two groups namely PDP and APC and they will continue to switch positions between two umbrellas in collaboration to plunder the country’s resources. After the elections, they will reconcile and share appointments among their friends.
According to him, “No nation ever become rich or poor by accident, that the fate of a nation being rich or poor rests in existing leadership of individual nations and that the citizens are either slaves or masters of their choices.

- He said, “Nations like United States, China and Germany have shown examples that through planning and patriotic coordinated efforts of individuals, economic wealth is possible. Very important is the lessons we could learn from the four Asian Tigers, namely; Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan.
“The four Asian Tigers also known as Asian Dragons or Asian Miracles underwent swift industrialization and sustained exceptional growth rates between the 1960s and 1990s. They introduced and sustained policies that promote local contents, exportation, macroeconomic management, tax insensitive for foreign investors with government heavy involvement in industrialization and policy implementation.
“Taiwan and South Korea began to industrialize in the mid-1960s with heavy government involvement including initiatives and policies. Both countries pursued export-oriented industrialization as in Hong Kong and Singapore.
The four countries were inspired by Japan's evident success, and they collectively pursued the same goal by investing in the same categories: infrastructure and education.
“Dear Nigerians, it is evident that the road to recovery for the Asian Tigers is a combination of active government intervention, prolonged social stability, development management capacity, long term vision and agenda, deliberate change in mindset and work ethic, creation of enabling environment for non-state actors, judicious exploitation of globalization and relentless pursuit of human resource development and socio-economic infrastructure. However, the linchpin factor in all cases seems to be quality leadership in providing direction, setting agenda and executing change,” he noted.
Mr Etim however cautioned Nigerian youths from being deceived, adding that leadership makes the difference between Nigeria and four Asian Tigers in the journey from 1960s to today. According to him, the country’s history from 1960 is replete of charlatans who plundered our commonwealth; bastardized our resources, both natural and humans. They are quacks with mere lip-service to national greatness.
He further said, “ As we all prepare ourselves for the general election, next month, note that :-
- Unemployment in Nigeria is leadership induced.
- Killings in North East and North Central of Nigeria are leadership induced.
- Lack of electricity for such prolonged period of years in Nigeria is leadership induced.
- Lack of good education in Nigeria is leadership induced.
- Lack of good healthcare in Nigeria is leadership induced.
- Lack of basic infrastructure such as modern railroad is leadership induced.
“Fellow citizens, the future of this great nation is in your hands until you give it out at the poll come next month. It is wisdom on our part to choose wisely.
The CNP Presidential flagbearer affirmed, as a candidate in that election, that fixing Nigeria is not difficult, if the agenda is pursued with a sincere heart, patriotism and a detribalized approach to opportunity sharing among the units that make this great nation.
