A gang war between two factional groups of National Union of Road and Transport Workers ( NURTW), Mc Oluomo and Kunle Poly, at the flag-off of the APC Gubernatorial campaign of the All Progressives Congress, Babajide Sanwo-Olu at Skypower field, Ikeja, Lagos, has led to the death of two people while many got injured.
During the incident, MC Oluomo was stabbed and later rushed to an undisclosed hospital, while three journalists were shot by suspected rival groups.
Among those hit were political editor of Nation newspaper, Emmanuel Oladesu, NewTelegraph correspondent, Temitope Ogunbanke, Ibile Television cameraman, Abiodun Yusuf, among others.
The crisis started when Governor Akinwunmi Ambode mounted podium to deliver his speech. The rival groups took advantage of the occasion to hit each other , while unsuspecting individuals were robbed of their phones, money and bags.
While the incident was ongoing, Governor Ambode continued his address and handed the microphone to the party's candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who delivered the vote of thanks.
