Mr. Adamu Mohammed has been officially decorated by President Muhammadu Buhari as the acting Inspector General of Police thereby taking over from Outgoing IGP , Idris Ibrahim.
His appointment follows 15th January, 2019 retirement of former IGP from service of the Nigeria Police Force at the age of Sixty (60) Years.
Adamu was until his appointment the Director Staff member at the National Institute of policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, near Jos, Plateau State. He once served as the Commissioner of Police in Enugu State and currently the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone Five, in Benin ,Edo State.
Speaking at the hand over ceremony, former IGP thanked President Buhari for the opportunity given to him to serve under his administration as Inspector General of Police.
He also appreciated Nigerians for the cooperation and support they accorded him and the entire personnel of the Force during his tenure, he however urged them to extend the same level of support and assistance to his successor, Ag. IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu,mni.
