500 Chadian soldiers enter Nigeria, in support of fight against Boko Haram




More than 500 Chadian soldiers have entered through the Nigerian/Chadian border on the Friday barely few hours into the conduct of the country’s Presidential election, to “ lend a hand ” to the Nigerian army in its efforts to tackle the Boko Haram jihadist group , a Chad army spokesman told AFP.



The regional force comprised of troops from Nigeria, Cameroon , Chad and Niger, are still part of the multinational force fighting insurgency in the North East.

The soldiers are deployed on join the  combat troops fighting Boko Haram, on Saturday while the election is ongoing.

Boko Haram is active mainly in Nigeria, but the group periodically stages raids in neighbouring countries such as Chad , Niger, and Cameroon.

The Jihadists group has killed five people , wounded five others, and kidnapped nine — including six women — in attacks on two villages in western Chad , an official source told AFP Thursday.

The attacks took place Tuesday night, according to Dimouya Soiapebe, general secretary of Lake Chad province.

“Five people were killed and five wounded” in the first assault , on the village of Bouboura , while the kidnappings took place in a second attack on the village of Ngasia, Soiapebe said

On Friday, it was reported that suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked Borno village of Zabramari, some 10 kilometres from Maiduguri in Borno State.

A resident who was affected by the raid to Sahara Reporters that the  insurgents came in a convoy of utility vehicles to attack Zabramari, located in Jere Local Government Area of Borno State, at exactly 5pm, and opened fire on civilians, killing a yet unknown number of people.

Rosatom's TVEL, AllWeld Nuclear, industrial agree to cooperate nuclear backend area
