Buhari’s phenomenon is sweeping across Africa – Garba Shehu replies PDP over visit of Niger Rep. Governors to Kano

Oredola Adeola |

Mallam Shehu Garba, Senior Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media & Publicity has described  the participation of citizens and two Governors of Niger Republic in the campaign of President Muhammadu Buhari  in Kano State on Thursday as a demonstration of Buhari’s phenomenon sweeping across the African continent.

Recall that during the campaign in Kano on Thursday, thousands of Niger Republic citizens from Maradi, led by two serving State governors- Governor Issa Moussa of Zinder and Maradi State Governor, Zakiri Umar- from that country entered the country through Katsina and Kano State as early as 8am, in solidarity to the presidential ambition of President  Buhari.

The National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, had accused Buhari of mortgaging the future of Nigeria. He alleged that the President and his party, the APC, would also import voters from neighbouring countries for the February 16 Presidential election.

According to the Buhari’s spokesman,  we want PDP to know that there is a Buhari phenomenon that is sweeping across the entire continent, adding that candidates for national leadership in each country are doing whatever they can to understand the Buhari phenomenon, to copy it and to institute it in their countries.

He said, “That’s why people from the African continent…when they had the presidential election in Ghana, there was a candidate who branded himself the Buhari of Ghana. During the presidential election in Chad last year, there was a candidate who tagged himself as the Buhari of Chad. They had printed posters with their pictures with Buhari side by side.

“So, Nigeria has been gifted with an honest leader, a man endowed with rare qualities and people are trying to copy that.

“If our neighbours from Niger come to witness how President Buhari is doing his politics, what is the problem with that? Is there any law that is broken? Or did they see anyone that will buy vote or collect PVC?" PMB's spokesman said.

Garba Shehu however revealed that the oppositions are being jealous for condemning such gesture. He urged PDP members to worry that nobody is coming across the border to understudy their presidential candidate, Alh Atiku Abubakar.
