A Chieftain of the All Progressive Party (APC), in Lagos, Chief Lanre Razak, has predicted that Epe division would be the largest and biggest industrial hub in Lagos state by 2023. Chief Razak, also known as KLM, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Epe, on Saturday.
He said that with the emergence of Dangote oil refinery, Free Trade Zone, higher institutions, big fertilizer industry and other gigantic industries coming up in the division, the socio-economic status of Epe community will enjoy a boost.
He said, “With this investment opportunity, it will help to salvage the situation of poverty alleviation and job employment challenges in the community.
“Those of us in Epe division are extremely lucky, as the community is hosting and accommodating thousands of companies.
“We are the important industry location in Nigeria with the oil refinery coming up in our division, ” he said.
According to him, Epe people are the delighted with this development. He therefore urged the residents and indigenes to warmly embrace investors.
“Our duty as a community is to prepare our people to receive those companies with open and kind heart, hospitable and avoid all forms of crisis.
“Epe will have a fair share of industrial development with time, but it will never come without some pains, ” he said.
He also attributed the gridlock along Epe/Ibeju-Lekki expresway to the massive industrial revolution in the axis, especially the area where the Dangote refinery is located.
He further disclosed that “The heavy trucks plying through the routes daily are much, therefore, the damage cause on the road will be much.
He enjoined all residents, indigenes and motorists to exercise patient, as Lagos state government is working assiduously to salvage the situation.
“This present government under the leadership of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Gov. Obafemi Hamzat will be proactive in addressing situations like this.
“I can understand the pains and suffering motorists and indigenes are facing on the road, they should be assured that the government will provide a palliative measure soon, ” he said.
Razak noted that it is difficult for the government to do it alone, hence, need for Public, Private, Partnership and community support in solving the infrastructural deficits.
He said, “I have a construction company and am working towards putting a palliative measures on the road, if approved by the government.
The Balogun General of Epe appealed to the concerned indigenes and residents, who went on street protest some days ago in Epe/Ibeju Lekki to give the government time to address the situation.
