Many people were reportedly injured on Sunday as violent clash broke out between Hausa traders and some Yoruba men working for the market leaders at the popular Ile-Epo Oja, Agbado Oke-Odo, Lagos.
A source who gave his own side of story said, the crisis started on Saturday evening when the men working for the Market leaders were trying to force the Hausa traders to pay their market dues.
The situation which was not settled on Saturday night , escalated on Sunday morning resulting in destruction of wares and stores of defaulting traders. The traders also mobilised themselves to resist the boys working for the market leader.
The crisis which spread to different parts of the market caused serious traffic lockdown as vehicles heading to-fro Lagos/ Abeokuta express road got trapped.
Casualty figure still remain unconfirmed as at the time of filing this report, but it was reported that those wounded have been moved to the General Hospital in the area while Police Anti-Riot squad have been deployed to the scene to restore order and peace.
