1st African musical concert holds during Carnival Calabar @Calas Vegas

Oredola Adeola | The Cross River State Government is ready to host the maiden edition of the All African Musical Concert during the annual Calabar Carnival festival fondly tagged "Africa's Biggest Street Party",billed to commence from December 1st to December 31st. 2019. This was disclosed exclusively to Oredola Adeola, Surprise Africa, in a chat with Honourable Kenn Aklah, Senior Special Adviser, Governor's Office & Event Management, to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, during the just concluded #Akwaaba2019, held at Eko Hotel & Suite , Lagos Nigeria. According to him, as part of the vision of making the Cross River State, Nigeria, the Tourism Capital of Africa, we have continued to develop tourism products that would make the carnival Calabar, more interesting to international and local tourists attending the annual festival. He said, " Some of the products added to the festival this year , includes the maiden edition of the All African Musical Concert and the Calas Vegas Beach Party packaged with the Volley Ball competition for all the nationalities attending the festival. "So many events happen every December in Calabar but this new entries are created to ensure that participants and tourists never have dull moment throughout the 32 days of the Carnival. " This year, we are dedicating a special day for the 1st African Musical Concert in Calabar Carnival. The concert will be a special platform offered to promote and reward great talents and musicians from the continent. "Recall that the Calas Vegas is a special project developed by Governor Ayade, to serve as the most beautiful, fantastic and digital city on planet earth. The city when completed is going to be the best holiday centre for Nigerians and Africans at large because it will be far more beautiful and safer for tourists. It is nestled on a three by three kilometer stretch of land within the Mary slessor Island," the Special Adviser disclosed. Hon.Aklah further disclosed that this year, the Cross River State Governor, particularly, wants tourists to relish the beautiful scenery of the calabar river and the Calas Vegas Island. We are crossing all participants from the mainland to the Island for unforgettable fun and excitement. The Special Adviser however noted that security have been perfected to ensure the safety of all travellers and tourists during the December carnival.

Oredola Adeola Wikimedia Nigeria Foundation has honoured Mr. Folorunsho Coker, Director-General of National Tourism Development Commission (NTDC) and Kayode Akintemi, Managing Director, Plus TV Africa, with Distinguished Personality Award for their contributions to the growth and development of open knowledge in Nigeria.
