First human is a blackman - Oba Michael Ajayi, Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesha

Oredola Adeola| His Royal Majesty, Kabiesi Oba Michael Odunayo Ajayi, Arowatawaya II, Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesha, has revealed that archeological and chronological evidence has proven that the first human created by God is a blackman, adding that black is the colour of creation. He made this known during a chat with Surprise Africa, at the 2019 Edition of the #Olojofestival in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. According him, the black people are in the majority at evolution but they became extinct due to migration to other parts of the world, prior to the advent of slavery across Africa and the Mediterranean. He noted that the black people lost it because they lacked documentation of the historic facts. The Elerinmo, who is the Coordinator of all Yoruba Oba’s Conference, a projection initiated by the Oonirisa, however, charged black nations to retrace and reclaim their heritage, by standing against blackmail and negativity attached to blackness by negrophobians and western media. He said : "Ile-Ife is the cradle of mankind. This is our position and anyone willing to find should do his or her research for better understanding. We have our historical facts to back this up", he said. The Elerinmo, who is a descendant of the fifth Ooni of Ife, Obalufon Alayemore, however commended the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, for advancing the unity of Yoruba race through the instrumentality of reconciliation, lasting relationship and cultural festival amongst monarchs and all the descendants of Oduduwa. He said, "Through the efforts of the Oonirisa, traditional leaders have become innovative about promotion of Yoruba's culture. Most of the trips by him within and out of the continent, especially to both South and North America, have been fruitful, because most of the traditional leaders and black people have expressed interest in connecting with Ile-Ife through festivals such as Olojo Festival and other cultural events." The Kabiesi further corrected the notion that cultural festival is about fetishism. He disclosed that traditionalists believe in the supremacy of the Almighty God, fondly referred to as the Eledumare. "So, we haven't equated the diety to the God divine.", he said. He noted that religious rituals of traditionalist is like every other ritual done in Christianity and Islam. Rituals are something adherents of a particular religion do repeatedly in the course of carrying out their religious responsibilities. He said: " If truly traditional worship is evil, why did the colonial masters and other European countries steal our artifacts for display in country's museums? Why are they celebrating Halloween, which promotes witchcrafts. "The truth is that there is only one God, supreme being, who rules over the affairs of humankind, irrespective of their religious belief." Kabiesi Elerinmo further praised the Ooni of Ife for upgrading Olojo Festival into an internally recognised festival. The festival is the celebration of African cultural heritage. "We celebrate the creator of the day when the day was pronounced as day for humanity.", he disclosed. He however revealed that Olojo festival will soon become an annual pilgrimage for all. He disclosed that the time has come for the Nigerian government to prioritise the potentials of the tourist sector in order to boost the country's Internally Generated Revenue(IGR) ,warning that overdependence on crude oil is likely to put the country in an economic crisis. According to him, the Olojo festival is one of the tourism products attracting thousands of tourists to Nigeria from different parts of the world, including South & North America ,Europe and Middle East. "The Yoruba race and particularly those in Southwest, Nigeria, are very lucky to be blessed with an agile, intelligent, able and capable imperial leader, like Oba Adeyeye Enitan, Ojaja II. His charisma and personality match his position as the supreme head of the intended Yoruba nation. His throne represents the entire purpose of the "Yorubahood," The monarch however commended the Oonirisa for opening up the festival for attraction and interest of the younger generation. He noted that Oba Adeyeye, as the Chief promoter of the festival, has given the festival a modern colouration which is why more youths are participating in the festival annually. He said : " The Oonirisa and the Festival planning committee have put in place different measures to sell and market it to the global community. This is why there are so many attractive programmes that took place during the festival."
