IG's wife sets to eject beer joints in Police barracks

Hajia Hajara Usman Baba, wife of the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, who doubles as the President of the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) has condemned the spread of beer joints in police barracks. She made this known on Thursday in Ikeja, Lagos during a three-day working visit to familiarise herself with POWA members in the state and also to access the Police children school, to improve the general standards. According to her, spread of the joints in the Police barrack is a bad influence on officers' children and the future of the country. She added that she would immediately send a signal to the Force headquarters for the outright relocation of beer parlours from police barracks, threatening that whoever flouted the directive thereafter, would be ejected from the barracks. Ikun Cow Dairy Farm in Ekiti State

    The Ekiti State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Hon. Akin Oyebode  to Ikun Diary Farm and Ero Dam on Saturday shared a picture of cattle ranch operated by the Ekiti State Government in partnership with US firm, Promasidor Nigeria Limited, in Ikun-Ekiti, Ekiti State.   He  posted,  “ I’m lactose intolerant but couldn’t resist drinking a glass of fresh milk from Ikun Dairy Farm. We now have 300 Jersey cows, with 6 of them producing 150 litres of milk per day. When that number gets to just 60, that’s 1,500 litres per day. Glad to see the vision coming to pass! Lagos, Ogun establish Joint Development Commission

The Lagos and Ogun State Governments have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, to establish the Lagos-Ogun Joint Development Commission, this is part of efforts by the two states to  stimulate greater economic development, cooperation and ultimately aimed at bettering the lives of their citizens.   The two Governors met on Monday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital to sign the MoU. In his remark, Governor Sanwoolu of Lagos State said, "This alliance will accelerate the integration of physical and socio-economic development of our states and enable us to mutually tackle issues prevalent in key economic sectors, including transportation, environment, housing, health, infrastructure and security. Presidency debunks rift between Buhar, Tinubu

Oredola Adeola|  ....as officers killed by #EndSARS rioters gets posthumous promotion  As part of  efforts at boosting the morale of personnel and repositioning the Force for greater efficiency, the aInspector-General of Police, IGP, on Monday 23rd November, 2020 approved the promotion of Eighty-Two Thousand, Seven Hundred and Seventy Nine (82,779) Junior Police Officers to their next ranks.  This was contained in statement obtained by The Editorial  through  DCP Frank MBA,  Force Public Relations Officer.  The promotion of the officers comprise of 56,779 Sergeants to Inspector, 17,569 Corporal to Sergeants and 8,431 Constables to Corporal. Canteen owner who cooks with Mortuary arrested

A canteen owner, Mrs Gloria Edet a.k.a.Madam Honey Food, who cooks with "Mortuary Water" to attract customers in Akwa Ibom State, has been arrested by the Police.  The owner of the restaurant located in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State was arrested for selling to the public food prepared with water used in bathing corpses. She was arrested on Wednesday after she was exposed by a mortuary attendant who claimed she was owing him money for three months. The morgue attendant further claimed that Edet visits him daily to buy the water he used in bathing corpses. On interrogation,Edet confessed that she uses the water she buys from the mortuary to make the charms she uses in preparing the food she sells to attract more customers and make more money. She said because of the charms anyone that goes into her restaurant to eat will automatically be addicted to eating her food. The woman is reportedly at the police headquarters,Ikot Akpanabia, Uyo.

Popular Celestial Prophet, Israel Genesis bags two years jail term over fraud

A Lagos State High Court has sentenced popular prophet and Shepherd-in-charge of Celestial Church of Christ Global Genesis Parish, Israel Oladele Ogundipe aka Israel Genesis, to two years imprisonment for defrauding a United Kingdom-based woman, Mrs Olaide Williams-Oni. Ogundipe, who has been on trial since 2011, was charged with seven counts of obtaining by stealing, inducing delivery of money by false pretences, unlawful conversion of property and forgery. In her testimony, Williams-Oni had told the court that she met the prophet in 2002 during her visit to Nigeria when she was taken to his church for prayers by her step-sister. Justice Akinlade, in a judgment that lasted for about four hours, sentenced the defendant, Prophet Oladele, to a year imprisonment on count two and four. The presiding judge, Justice Olabisi Akinlade found the clergyman guilty of two of the seven charges brought against him and dismissed the remaining five over lack of evidence.
