Lagos govt. orders public primary schools to vacate by Friday, December 6

The Lagos State Government has instructed Pre-Primary and Primary schools in the state to vacate on Friday , December 6, 2019 for the first term 2019/2020 and resume on January 20, 2020 for second term 2019/2020 session. The adjustment in the academic calendar was announced by the state government through the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, in a circular signed by Mrs. M. A Folami, Acting Director, School Support Services for Executive Chairman, SUBEB, on November 27, 2019. According to Mrs Folami, the measure has become necessary because the Public Pre-Primary School and Primary School Head Teachers and Teachers would be attending Eko Excel Pre Service Professional Development and Technology Training programme between December 2019 and January 2020. Border Closure: Obasanjo blames Rep.Benin for being notorious

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has bemoaned the government of Benin Republic for its notoriety regarding bilateral relationship between the two countries. President Obasanjo made this known on Tuesday, in Addis Ababa while speaking on the margins of Policy Dialogue of African Business Associations on Implementing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreements. Daily influx of people responsible for terrible Lagos traffic situation- Lagos State Government

Oredola Adeola| The Lagos State Government has blamed the current terrible state of the traffic situation in the state on the “daily influx of people” from other parts of the country into the state. Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, Commissioner for Information and Strategy made this statement on Wednesday, noting that the discomfort of Lagos commuters and motorists is temporary and they would soon get some relief. Omotosho said that the government didn’t set out to inflict any pain on Lagosians with its road repair efforts and that it had called on the contractors to speed up work on the road. Lagos State Command of the Nigerian Police have announced the resumption to office of Hakeem Odumosu popularly called "Tango One", as new Commissioner of Police in the state. This was disclosed in a press statement by the Lagos State Command Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana. He said that posting was contained in a statement dated 14th November, 2019 signed by the Force Secretary.
