The Council however called on Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona and other top Yoruba monarchs to as a matter of urgency call the Oluwo to order over his decision to adopt Emir title instead of Oba that's known in Yoruba culture.

Comrade Wahab Kazeem Olanrewaju , Osun State Chairman of the Council made this known on Sunday  in Ikirun ,Osun State, while reacting to the development.

According to him, the Emirship has no place in Yoruba culture and traditions and Iwo land is one of the foremost Yoruba towns in Yoruba land.

He said, "The Emir title is unknown to Yoruba culture and tradition and must be thwarted in its entirety. Oba Akanbi might have been wrongly informed or acted based on an unverified assertions, but whatever the case we want him called to order.

"It's on this note that we call on Ooni of Ife, Alaafin of Oyo, Awujale of Ijebuland and other top monarchs in Yoruba land to call Oba Akanbi to order before it's too late.

Despite heated controversy generated by the monarch's decision, the Council believes Oba Akanbi  can still be made to reverse his action.
