Taraba APC rally: Two dead, others injured as President Buhari calls for improved crowd control mechanism

Two persons were confirmed dead during the presidential rally of the All Progressives Congress held at the Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo, Taraba state capital, on Thursday as a result of overwhelming crowd of supporters who attended the rally.



Other victims according to our source have were rushed to the hospital by the paramedics.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari, through a statement released to the media by Garba Shehu, his spokesman, expressed sadness over of loss of lives at the APC Presidential Campaign Rally.

Reacting to reports of the tragic death, President Buhari said, “I always feel very sad and distressed when ordinary Nigerians who love me and our party because of what we stand for and have done, make personal sacrifices by taking the pains to show their support, end their lives tragically.”

President Buhari however called for restraint on the part of his supporters, asking them to avoid such tragic incidences.

While appreciating the massive support he is receiving all over the country, he however urged his campaign managers to improve crowd management at rally grounds.

He said, “I want them to stay alive and witness the dividends of purposeful governance that the APC administration will unfold when they renew our mandate,” he said.

The APC Presidential flagbearer, also commiserate with the families of the victims and the APC family, the President prays Almighty God to grant peace to the souls of the departed and speedy recovery to the injured.
