10-year-old terrorist victim raped in IDP camp gives birth via CS


A 10-year-old girl, Masenengen Targba, who was raped at an internally displaced persons camp in Benue State, has given birth to a baby girl via caesarean section at Foundation Memorial Hospital, Makurdi.


A Non-Governmental-Organisation, Diamond heart foundation, mobilizing help for the young girl disclosed this on Wednesday after visiting the lady in the hospital.

According to the foundation, the pregnant girl was dumped in General Hospital, Markurdi by an unknown person on August 4, 2019, before she was later transferred to Dr Ijoko and Dr Yima's Foundation Memorial Hospital following the intervention of the NGO and one Mr Ukan.

The NGO said, "The lady on Tuesday, August 5, 2019 was successfully operated after which she delivered a baby girl, who weighed 2. 5kg.

 Representatives of the NGO have been soliciting help from the members of  the public on behalf of the youbg girl, who is currently receiving care at theprivate hospital was at the hospital.

They are asking the public to help her with some provisions, toiletries, baby wears and money for upkeep of mother and child.

Scenes like this has become a phenomenon in most of the IDP camps across the country where displaced terrorists victims seeking help have been unduly exploited by officials who are meant to give them care.
