New cabinet: President Buhari unburdens Fashola, retains Lai Mohammed, Ngige, Malami others

President Muhammadu Buhari has reduced the burden on Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) from his three old ministerial portfolio to two, Minister of Works and Housing, while the Minister of Power has been given to  Eng. Saleh Mamman.


President Buhari also retained Alh. Lai Mohammed in the Ministry of Information & Culture, Rotimi  Amaechi - Minister of Transportation, Abubakar Malami , Attorney General of Federation and Minister of Justice, Chris Ngige Ministry of Labour & Employment.

The returnees are, Ogbonnaya Onu - Science and Technology, Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, Finance, Budget and National Planning, Adamu Adamu, Minister of Education, , Hadi Sirika – Minister of Aviation.

Some of the new Ministers are Muhammed Musa Bell, FCT, Amb Maryam Katagum – Bauchi, Industry, Trade and Investment, (State), Sen. Adeleke O. Mamowora,  Minister of State Health,  Sen. Tayo D. Alasoadura, Minister of State Labour and Employment, Mrs Pauline Tallen, Minister of Women Affairs

Others are :- Goodswill Akpabio - Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Timipre Silva - Minister of States for Petroleum, Chief Niyi Adebayo - Minister of State Industries, Arch Lekan Adegbite - Minister of Mines and Steel, Rauf Aregbeshola - Minister of Interior, Sunday Akindare  - Minister of Youth and Sports, Festus Keyamo - Minister of States for Niger Delta Affairs, Mallam Pantami - Minister for Communications, Uche Ogar - Minister of Mine, Steel and Mineral Resources.

Oredola Adeola Wikimedia Nigeria Foundation has honoured Mr. Folorunsho Coker, Director-General of National Tourism Development Commission (NTDC) and Kayode Akintemi, Managing Director, Plus TV Africa, with Distinguished Personality Award for their contributions to the growth and development of open knowledge in Nigeria. The award ceremony was held at the Plus TV Africa studio in Victoria Island, Lagos at the weekend. Mr. Olaniyan Olushola, President, Wikimedia Nigeria Foundation Inc., while congratulating the award recipients, encouraged them to continue to promote open knowledge in Nigeria.
